AGM Aug 2024 Minutes

(To be formally agreed at next AGM)
  1. Chairman's Address
    Toby thanked Steve Rew for his years of service having stepped down as chairman
  2. Minutes from Last AGM
    None available
  3. Financial Report
    League finances were presented by Toby and accepted
  4. Committee members Re-elected, New members elected
    1. Steve Rew and Toby resigned from their positions
    2. Steve O'Callaghan and Sven to stay on
    3. New members Neil James and Steiner added
  6. Proposals
    1. Home Team Referees
      It was agreed that the old system be returned namely that the home team referees all the games.
    2. Snooker Rule Correction
      League rules on the web site updated to allow snookers at any time
    3. No More Than 2 Thais per team
      This proposal was voted down
    4. To prevent byes completely we can, depending on the number of teams, 
      1. Limit the total number of teams 
      2. or Have different number of teams in each division. One division would play friendlies in the last two weeks
      3. or Increase the number of divisions
  8. Other business
    1. The meeting was reminded that Mabprachan Pool league is an amateur league.  While bar owners buying drinks for players is acceptable, financial payments are forbidden.  Any bar found by the committee to be making financial payments to players will be immediately banned for not less than the remainder of the season but not  more than two seasons.
    2. It was agreed that we would have perpetual trophies as had been previously agreed in the last AGM.
    3. A motion was put forward that the attendance future AGM's be limited to bar owners and captains.  The idea was not voted on.
  10. End of Season Party
    As has been the practice with previous seasons, the bar to host the end of season party was "drawn from a hat".  Azure was selected but subsequently declined.  Ice Star Bar was then selected.  Party to be held on 24th August 2024 at 7pm.
    It was noted that there was some confusion as to the selection process.
