MABPRACHAN POOL LEAGUE 
Code of Conduct for Teams and Players 

Purpose: 

This Code of Conduct establishes clear expectations for all participating teams, players, referees, and supporters in the Mabprachan Pool League. Its goal is to promote sportsmanship, respect, and fair competition, ensuring a safe and enjoyable environment for everyone. 

1. General Principles 

All players and teams agree to: 

  • Uphold the values of integrity, fairness, and respect always. 
  • Accept and abide by all official league rules and referee decisions. 
  • Promote a positive and welcoming atmosphere in all venues. 
  • Conduct themselves in a manner that reflects well on the league and its members. 

2. Player Behaviour 

  • Players must not use foul, abusive, or discriminatory language toward opponents, referees, or spectators. 
  • Physical aggression or threatening behaviour will not be tolerated under any circumstances. 
  • Players must refrain from excessive shouting, taunting, or unsportsmanlike conduct. 
  • Alcohol consumption or other substances usage should not affect a player’s attitude and behaviour; every individual should always be accountable for his own actions. 
  • Each player is responsible for knowing and following official pool rules and league policies. 

3. Referee and Match Conduct

  • Referees’ decisions are final during play. 
  • Disputes should be raised after the frame through the team captains only. 
  • Players must not argue or challenge referees publicly during a match. 
  • Referees and captains should communicate calmly and respectfully when clarifying rules. 
  • Any form of verbal abuse or intimidation of referees will lead to disciplinary action. 

4. Team Captains’ Responsibilities 

  • Ensure that all players understand and comply with this Code of Conduct. 
  • Address and manage any disputes or misconduct within their team. 
  • Report any incidents or rule breaches to the League Committee within 24 hours. 
  • Act as the first point of contact between their team and the League Committee. 
  • Lead by example and always promote fair play. 
  • Any form of abuse towards a committee member will not be tolerated and an incident investigation will be initiated to determine if sanctions are merited. 

5. Spectator and Venue Conduct 

  • Team supporters must behave respectfully toward players, referees, and other spectators. 
  • Team captains and venue owners share responsibility for managing spectator behaviour. 
  • Offensive or aggressive language from spectators may result in warnings, fines, or match forfeits. 

6. Disciplinary Actions 

Breaches of this Code may result in disciplinary measures as determined by the League Committee, including: 

  1. Verbal or written warnings 
  2. Match suspension(s) for individuals or teams 
  3. Match forfeiture or loss of league points 
  4. Temporary or permanent expulsion from the league 
  5. Venue suspension for repeated misconduct All disciplinary decisions will be made following a review by the League Committee and may include consultation with involved parties. 

7. Reporting Incidents 

All reports of misconduct or disputes must be submitted in writing to the League Committee within 24 hours of the incident. Reports should include: 

  • Date, time, and location of the incident. 
  • Names of individuals involved 
  • Witnesses and any supporting evidence (e.g., photos, CCTV, written statements) 

8. Acknowledgement 

  • By signing below, the team captain confirms that all players under their responsibility have been informed of and agree to follow this Code of Conduct throughout the season.
